Great Item At A Great Cost – 10 Inch Netbook Critique
Ostensibly to aid in getting the new hard drive installed, in my 17\” laptop; that might as well be a desktop for how portable it is. I\’m really very happy with it. The color is just awesome and the rubber gripping material is a great idea. The notebook is perfect for internet browsing, email and etc.
I really like Toshiba\’s customer service. This netbook is great. This is my first netbook. I researched a while before I made the decision to make my purchase and I\’m happy to be able to say that I made a good decision with this one. I\’m a video engineer in Hollywood, and therefore I expect pure playback, not little glitch lines or breaks in the video, which this laptop does. As of this date it seems to handle 480 as good as 360 and below. Kudos to Amazon as well for the very fast shipping and for the secure packaging. This is my first netbook and I have been impressed so far. I don\’t leave home without it! I wanted something to carry while I was touring on the Motorcycle. After getting the right module, upgrading the memory module was very easy. I have only had this for two days and so far love everything about it.
Also, like most manufacturers Toshiba comes bloated with a ton of \”crapware\” you do not need that do nothing but bog you down, took me a while to clean it all up. By the way, Norton is one of the useless programs it comes with, it along with MacAfee suck big time use a free anti-virus like Avira and you will do fine, and save some money. But for everyday use this little guy is great. I like that it is so small and light making it very easy to carry around or use while on the couch. I bought a VGA male-male cable and audio cable to connect it to my TV to get video plus audio. Overall this is a practical little gadget and I recommend it to a lot of my friends who are undecided whether to get an iPad or this. What is there not to like about it? The battery life is outstanding, seems to me near 8 hours at this time.
The screen is very clear and the speed is pretty good too. I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and installed 2GB of memory. It has a decent amount of USB slots and I like that it has a SD card reader. The biggest complaint (and only serious one) that I have is that it comes with Windows 7 Starter.
I did look at many reviews on Amazon and other webpages. What I did was delete the Norton Internet Security, and went with the free Avast Home Edition.
