Australia Emigration

One of the hardest decisions you can make is deciding where to live, particularly when it comes to moving overseas. Australia is one of the world\’s largest countries and so moving between cities is not easy with up to four hours flying time between each, and this highlights the need to make the right decision before you settle. So if you are looking to make the move down under, it often pays to consider where you want to live, before you arrive there.

In recent years the mining industry in Australia has been booming, and with the promise of an abundance of jobs and great salaries, this industry has helped to attract thousands of Brits to live in the Western port city of Perth.

With a population size of 1.7 million, Perth is certainly not a small city, but it is one of the most spread out cities in Australia. Although Perth has a bustling CBD and there are a plethora of financial and business jobs in the city, what really attracts people to this area of Australia is the lucrative mining industry which is constantly on the lookout for new employees.

The Australian mining industry is the backbone to the Australian economy and is built on the foundation of the wide range of in-demand materials that occur naturally in Australian soil. This industry accounts for 90% of the West Australian economy and builds its strong foundation on popular minerals and materials including zinc, copper, lead, coal and salt.

Another major selling point of Perth is the warm weather which is felt in the city right the year round, a stark contrast to what many people are used to living in the UK. In January, the middle of summer, the average temperature is around 30 degrees each day and this only drops to an average of 20 in winter (this is higher than the average of a British summer). This does however, come hand in hand with the higher than average rainfall, and during the rainy season, Perth can see rainstorms almost every day.
